The purpose of this privacy and cookie policy is to help you gain an understanding as to what data we collect, why we collect it and what we do with it. This is important in order for us to comply with the conditions set out in the new personal data ordinance (GDPR) which came into force on 25 May 2018.

General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) at Global Wind Academy

GDPR establishes a new framework for how personal data is processed and how we think about our right to privacy. The purpose of the General Data Protection Regulation is to strengthen and unify data protection rules and rights for the benefit of EU citizens. It applies to all organizations within the EU and to organizations outside of the EU which deliver goods or services to the EU, or which use tracking technologies (such as cookies or tracking pixels) to monitor the behavior of EU citizens.

1. Personal data – What we collect and why

Global Wind Academy gathers personal information in certain cases. We collect said personal data in order to provide you with a better service. When contacting us through our contact form, we will collect the following personal data: your name and e-mail address. We collect your name and e-mail in order to be able to answer your inquiry. When booking a course we will collect the following personal data: your name, e-mail address, phone number, and address. When paying for your booked course you can choose to either pay with card or have an invoice sent. When choosing payment by card, your card information will be encrypted and transmitted directly to PBS. Autolog doesn't store any card information.   

When collecting personal data through our webpage we make sure it always happens with your consent. You will be informed when and why we collect your personal information. 

Your personal data will never be handed over or sold to third parties. 

You always have the right to access your collected data as well as the right to have them deleted. 

1.1  Protection of personal data

According to the General Data Protection Regulation, your personal data must be kept safely and confidently. We store your personal data on computers with limited access, which is placed in controlled facilities. Our security measures are continuously monitored to determine whether our data is handled properly and with regard to your rights as a user. However, we cannot guarantee 100 percent security for data transfers over the internet. This means there may be risk that other unauthorized persons gain access to information when data is sent and stored electronically. You submit your personal data at your own risk.

The rapid development of the internet means that changes in our processing of personal data may become necessary. We, therefore, reserve the right to update and modify this privacy policy.

If we do, we will of course change the date of “last updated” at the bottom of the page. In case of significant changes, we will notify you by a visible notice on our websites.  

To the extent that personal information about you is processed, you have the right to get informed in which personal data is attributed to you according to the Personal Data Act. If it appears that the personal data about you is incorrect or misleading, you are entitled to require these corrected, deleted or blocked. You can always object to any information about you being processed. You may also revoke your consent at any time. You have the possibility to complain about the processing of information and data regarding you. Complaints are filed with the Data Protection Agency, cf. Protection Act § 58.  

1.2 Cookies

We offer certain functions on our website that are only available via the use of tracking technologies. You can always block, delete or deactivate these technologies if your browser allows you to do so. However, if you disable cookies or other similar technologies, you may be unable to use certain functions or tools.

Generally, these technologies allow our website to save relevant data in your browser or device and then later read these data so that our servers or internal systems can identify you. Where appropriate, we protect our cookies and other similar technologies to ensure that only we and/or our authorized service providers can interpret them. We do this by assigning them a unique identifier that is designed to be read-only by us.

Personal data is used to complete the service which the data was collected for. The data is also used to gain knowledge of you and other users of the site. This use may include surveys and analysis aimed at improving our products, services, and technologies.

1.2.1 What are cookies?

A cookie is a file that the browser stores on your computer. This makes it possible for the website to recognize your computer and recall choices that you have made previously. E.g. language settings. Cookies cannot spread computer viruses or other malicious programs. Cookies delete themselves after a certain number of months (can vary), but they are renewed each time you visit the website. Cookies cannot identify who you are, what you are called, where you live or if your computer is used by one or several people. If you provide personal data to a website, however, then a cookie can be used to remember you the next time you visit the website.
